Companion Animal Club

The goal of the Companion Animal Club is to promote the enjoyment of companion animals while also providing an avenue for those interested in exploring a career in the companion animals field. Activities include volunteering at the Champaign County Humane Society, attending dog/cat shows, and organizing social gatherings. In addition, the club supports the Pet Food Subsidy for Senior Citizens and other such programs that benefit the community. Hoof and Horn Club

The Hoof and Horn Club is the UIUC chapter of the National Block and Bridle Association. The club's main objective is to provide the opportunity for students to develop greater knowledge of the animal sciences industry. Each year begins with the annual Fall Call Out to welcome students back to campus and introduce the club to new students. The club holds monthly meetings that often include guest industry speakers. Yearly activities include the annual Christmas Ham Sale, Farm City Days, and the Spring Showdown, a steer and heifer show held in April. The year ends with the Annual Spring Awards Banquet at which leaders in the industry, alumni, and club members are recognized for their achievements. Illini Dairy Club

The Illini Dairy Club offers several unique benefits for students in the College of ACES. Opportunities include gaining knowledge about the industry and dairy cows in general; enhancing public relation skills through interaction with dairy farmers and industry personnel of Illinois; gaining hands-on experience with cattle at the UIUC farm and at livestock shows; networking; and numerous social activities within the club and with dairy clubs throughout the Midwest. The events that highlight the year are the Milk-A-Cow Booth at the Illinois State Fair, the College of ACES Open House, the PDCA Calf Sale, and a club trip that combines good times with tours of dairy facilities and businesses. Illini Equestrians

The purpose of the Illini Equestrians organization is to expand its members' knowledge of horses, the horse industry, and equestrian competitions. Members of the organization participate in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition. Regional competitions take place in Illinois and Indiana and extend to the east and west coasts of the United States for the national competition. Pre-Veterinary Club

The Pre-Vet Club is an academic and social organization made up of individuals who wish to pursue careers in veterinary medicine. This club helps its members to gain experience in the basics of the trade they wish to practice. The Pre-Vet Club can assist students with academics and can help members gain hands-on animal experience. Additionally, the club assists individuals with the process of applying to veterinary school. Rodeo Club

The Rodeo Club offers members a chance to meet other students while enjoying and experiencing the thrills of the sport of rodeo. The club sponsors trips to rodeos as well as collegiate rodeo competitions in which members participate. The club meets regularly for rodeo practice sessions with a business meeting being held the last Thursday of every month. S.E.E.R.S

The Student Equine Emergency and Rehabilitation Society serves as a student outreach organization, striving to educate the public on proper equine welfare while offering aid to local equine rescues in the form of fund raising and volunteers. Some our activities include weekly volunteer trips out to the Society for Hooved Animal Rescue and Emergency, staffing various fundraising events such as PetFair, Petstravaganza, SHARE Open House, VetMed Open House and more. The club spends a great deal of time volunteering at a local equine rescue and provides members with the chance to interact with and care for horses housed at the facility.
